Unraveling A Gentleman

Robert Graham has spent five years in France planning to marry Sarah Gettys. They had fallen in love right before he left with the Army. He had promised to return.
Sarah had given up on Robert Graham and was moving on with her life. For the five years he was a way, she never heard a word from him.  She didn’t even know if he was dead or alive.

Robert returns. He sells his commission and assumes that Sarah will just fall into his arms.  He has already contacted her father and arranged for them to be betrothed.  All that’s left but to get married.  But Sarah has other ideas. She is angry that he hasn’t written.  She wants to be courted and proposed to. Unfortunately, a man from Robert’s past in France  threatens Sarah’s life in revenge.  Between protecting Sarah and courting her, Robert has his hands full. Will he be able to do both?

David Graham, Earl of Canleigh, is bored. His brother is in love and settled. While he is happy for Robert, it has left him with a sense that something is missing in his life.

Grace Martin has discovered that she is the long lost grand-daughter of a Duke. This country raised girl is about to have a taste of the good life.  She travels to Bath to partake of the delights under the watchful eye of her grandmother, the dowager duchess of Ashewood.  She befriends a group of girls trying to fit into society but in order to win their friendship she must complete a task: kiss the stuffy Earl of Canleigh.

Grace accepts the challenge. The girls don’t know that she and the earl have met before. She is sure she can convince him to go along.  He does finding it intriguing and fun for a change.

While Grace and David are setting the tongues wagging in Bath, someone is trying to kill Grace. Neither she nor David understand why until a secret from her mysterious past comes to light.
